01 Who we are and how to reach us

The site is operated by Popcorn Hostel București, located at Strada Inginer Pisoni 26, sector 1, Bucharest, Romania.

02 What data we collect on the site

Our site is static and has NO account forms, comments, or registration. We do not directly collect any personal data on the site.

Bookings are made exclusively through Beds24 (an external booking processor) — your booking data is processed by Beds24 and by us in order to honour your stay, according to their privacy policy.

On the site we use, only if you accept, two analytics tools: Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation). They may record: pages visited, visit duration, traffic source, country, device type, and — for Clarity — how you move your mouse and where you click (heatmaps and anonymised session replay).

Microsoft Clarity masks form input and personal content by default — it does not see what you type, only your navigation behaviour.

03 How consent works

The first time you visit the site, you see a banner asking your consent for analytics cookies. Until you press "Accept", NO analytics cookie is set and NO data is sent to Google or Microsoft (we use Google Consent Mode v2 with default "denied").

If you press "Accept", the Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity scripts load and start collecting anonymised data.

If you press "Refuse", the scripts do NOT load at all and the site remains free of analytics cookies.

Your choice is stored for 12 months in your browser's local storage (localStorage). You can change it any time (see the box below).

04 Strictly necessary technical cookies

The site sets no technical cookies of its own. The only thing saved in your browser is your consent preference ("granted" or "denied"), kept in localStorage — never transmitted to any server.

05 How long we keep the data

Google Analytics 4: 14 months (Google default).

Microsoft Clarity: up to 1 year.

Booking data processed via Beds24 is kept according to their terms and Romanian tax law (up to 10 years for accounting documents).

06 Who the data is shared with

Analytics data collected with your consent is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited (with possible transfers to Google LLC in the USA, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) and Microsoft Corporation.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.

07 Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), you have the right: to access the data we hold about you, to ask for rectification or deletion, to restrict or object to processing, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with the Romanian Data Protection Authority (ANSPDCP) — www.dataprotection.ro.
